There will be no policy changes from this new Israeli government regarding the Palestinians or Iran. But for the Biden administration and activists in the US, there will be some new twists.
Joe Biden will have every excuse he needs to avoid pressing Israel for concessions because the new coalition is so fragile and he knows that those who will press him on this will not want to see Netanyahu return. So it will come down to how Democratic, progressive, and left-wing activists decide to press forward. If they ease up the pressure, we will lose much of what has been gained in recent months in terms of starting top build real momentum toward policy change in Israel and Palestine.
I explore this and more in my latest piece for Responsible Statecraft.
