Lost in the shuffle of the murderous attack at the Kabul airport, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had his first meeting with US President Joe Biden and the tone couldn’t have been more different than it was from Benjamin Netanyahu’s meetings with either Donald Trump or Barack Obama.

Bennett and Biden struck a positive but professional tone, just one of the things both leaders were aiming for. While it was a win for both men, the meeting on the whole was a much bigger win for Bennett who couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

The big losers? As usual, it was the Palestinians, who were ignored by Bennett completely and given the most perfunctory attention by Biden. Also the prospects of the US re-entering the JCPOA took yet another hit, with Biden making more promises of tough responses to Bennett. Read my full analysis at Responsible Statecraft.
