When Haaretz published a story about warnings Netanyahu got before October 7, it stirred controversy. But what was much more important was that the warnings were a way for Hamas to try to push Netanyahu to conclude agreements that had already been reached for a slight easing of the blockade of Gaza. All of the bloodshed could have been avoided if Netanyahu had wanted to avoid it and if so-called “pro-Israel” advocates had called for it.
