In my latest piece for Souciant, I again try to place the fairly ludicrous issue of the “Israel Lobby’s” existence into some kind of perspective, this time focusing on the hysterical reactions to Tom Friedman’s recent off-hand remark about it from Michael Oren and Elliott Abrams.

  1. “I gave Prime Minister Netanyahu a standing ovation, not because of any nefarious lobby, but because it is in America’s vital national security interests to support the Jewish State of Israel and it is right for Congress to give a warm welcome to the leader of such a dear and essential ally.” Besides, if I hadn’t sprung up like a trained seal and clapped wildly, my face would have been plastered all over the NYT and pundits would have started talking about me as if I’d already lost an election.
